I just watched one of the most amazing movies...it's called freedom writers and it's a true story about an English teacher who started teaching at an integrated school in a classroom full of kids of different  races who hated anyone of a race different than their own (well there was there was one white kid who kinda got stuck in the class). Their lives were filled with gang violence.  Either they were in one or loved ones were killed because of it, but this one completely white English teacher was thrown into this world of hate and prejudice with the hope of making a difference.  Well i dont wanna destroy the whole movie by explaining it coz u have to see it yourself, but it rly affected me.  I'm first in line to tell racist jokes and even tho i never meant anything bad by them i realize now that i'm being so ignorant.  Those jokes mean more than i think they do and i finally took a long look at them and i dont wanna tell them anymore.  Also, I'm always saying when it comes to racism that whites get blamed for discrimination, and that we get discriminated against because somehow or another we get blamed for racism w/ everything we say.  But how is it going to help playing the blame game?  Someone has to make the first move in the fight for true integration so why not you or me?  Why can't we make the difference?  okay, i'm gonna get off my soap box but i was rly convicted tonight and i wanted to somehow get my thoughts out there.  I know that there's a good chance that just about nobody reads this but if there was ever an entry i wanted someone to read it would be this one.

  • so summer vacation is goin pretty well....and i just thot i'd give an update on my life even tho i have this feeling u prolly dont care but that's ok coz guess what?...i dont care that u dont care so ha!....anyway...about my life...i haven't rly done that much but i've done a couple kewl things like going white water rafting w/ leah's youth group....it was fun the first 3 hours then the last 3 hours just got a little tedious but w/e....currently i'm in binghamton w/ my cousins and my entire visit here has consisted of violence....i mean dont get me wrong there are no drive bys or anything but i've gotten the snot beat out of me while i've been here...at home the guys wouldn't dream of physically harming a girl in anyway but these guys hit back....i've had rocks and volleyballs thrown at me at high rates of speed, had a couple of punches thrown at me, been knocked out of a chair, and have rubberband welts all over my legs....to be honest it's a little more fun then just sitting around afraid to hurt the other person....even tho it sux to be beaten up, beating the other person up makes up for it....(btw...we need to have a rubberband war in youth group one time...it's so much fun..and the battle scars rock)....so that's my update and now that i have a violent streak i may wreak havoc on unsuspecting victims...bwahahahahahaha

Blastin' out to Johnny Cash, headin' for the highway,
Baby we ain't ever comin' back.

It's four hundred and sixty seven miles to the outskirts of Las Vegas.
What do you say we go get married by a preacher man that looks like Elvis.
    (yeah momma)
Sugar don't you worry bout tellin' your momma goodbye,
We'll send her a souvenier postcard from the wild side.

  • I think there's something inside everyone. It's something almost primitive. It's like the need to survive. Sometimes I feel it in a song or when I'm standing on a hill with nothing but nature around me and the sun is shining down on me. It's a feeling that could never be truly explained with simple words. It's a mix between hope and a thirst for adventure. Or maybe it's just the feeling that there's something more than this trivial life.
